W e i r d & wonderful
PHILIPPE RAMETTE
Phillipe Ramette was born in 1961. The images he creates are
from a perspective where he is defying gravity. Majority of his
images are like an invade on reality, examples of his images
are where he is walking on water or standing on the side of a
palm tree. These self-designed devices allow him to stand/sit
at seemingly impossible angles, hidden by his clothes or the
angle in which the shot is taken.

In my opinion, this is the best image because
it just stands out from the rest of his images.
It makes you think how he has created the
image because it literally invades reality, the
ocean looks quite deep so it doesn't seem
possible to take this picture.
I think its a great picture because the background
is all ocean&sky, mainly just a blue background
then you have the man hanging on,it creates
a great effect because it draws your attention
to the man.

In my opinion this image consists of 3 images, the white background, the landscape and the couple. Both images are in focus however the opacity of the foreground is decreased so that we're able to see both images.
Davis ayer
Davis Ayer is a photographer from California, he personalizes his shots to make them quite
distinctive and original causing them to stand out from the crowd. Ayer’s approach to
photography is different every time,he varies his shots. For instance sometimes he gives his
photographs a sort of vintage style, where as other times he changes the frames or light painting.
But there is always a lot of movement and slight out of focus.
He uses a medium format camera – Mamiya with a polaroid back, and a 35mm – Minolta SRT200,
and when it comes to digital, a Canon 5D Mark II. The photography and art that he has always
been attracted to was analogue, even before he knew anything about photography. He is inspired
by the recent past and nostalgia for the era before he was born, which is a world that doesn't
exist anymore

As you can see on some of his images he changes the opacity so that the images of
the girl are see through. But on others he places the background image onto the person
like the image of the legs. I like the style of his work because the backgrounds are
usually bright and vibrant with good colours such as oranges, purples, reds, pale blues.
His images are different and unique from other peoples work because he thinks outside
the box and creates something beautiful.

Personally I think this image is good because it contains numerous images combined into one. The background is a sunset so its colours are bright and an auburn orange with a tint of red. The way he's created this image makes it unusual and unlike any others work. The foreground is in focus and the background is out of focus. He also expresses a slight story within his work, for instance this portrays a sense of freedom or the complete opposite, abandonment.
photoshop editing
In my opinion this is my strongest photo because the edit is more detailed and in a way it looks more natural
Using Photoshop I decided to use an image
of Jessie J,my idol, and an image of a penguin,
favourite animal to create a weird and wonderful
image. At first I did her full face as a penguin but
it just didn't look right so I started again and thought
I would create a mask effect. I used the magnetic
tool to get the right outline of the penguins face
but then when i transferred the image onto hers,
I lowered the opacity on the image of the penguin
so that I could line up the features then I used a rubber,
with a soft edge to create the mask effect.

When I was creating this image, I noticed
that Demi Lovato had quite a baby face so
I got a cute animal to go with this. I had to
get an animal which was facing the right direction, straight forward. I also had to
crop the edges so that I only had the dogs
face. Once I had the face, I moved it onto
Demi's image aligned it with her features,
then I used the rubber with a soft edge so
it wasn't too obvious, to make the face
look as if it is under her fringe.

Again I have gone for the mask effect only this time I used actor Jamie Campbell Bower and a snow leopard. It was complicated to find a snow leopard which was facing the same direction as he is.To create the mask effect I had to change the opacity of the snow leopard to 50% so that I could see the background as well as my foreground. I used the magnetic
tool to get the right outline of the snow leopards face I lowered the opacity on the image of the snow leopard again so that I could line up the features then I used a rubber, with a soft edge to get to right outline.

take one
take two
This is the outcome, in my opinion its not that good due to the fact I could of done better at the cropping and smoothing around the edges.
take three
Within my work I have tried to combine the two photographers,Davis Sayer and Jasper James and create images with a twist of my own as well.
I used 2 images, however this time I placed the image of the flowers as the background rather than the foreground. I changed the opacity and rubbed out any unnecessary aspects of the image.
I combined two images, one portrait and one building which is the Big Wheel in Manchester city central. I placed both images onto one background, enlarged the image of the portrait and adjusted the opacity and then used the rubber tool to rub out the parts of the image I didn't want.
I did the process I used with the previous images. However this image is slightly different to the others as the foreground is a full body image rather than a close up and the background is brighter than the others.
final piece
The images below are the process I did. First I had 2 images, an image of daisy's and an image of an eye. I added a layer onto the image of the eye and transferred the daisy's onto there as seen in the second image. I adjusted to the opacity from 100% to 47% making it able to see both images. I got rid of any unwanted parts of the image of the daisy's using the rubber tool on photoshop. I increased the contrast on the image of the eye to see the detail in the eye lashes and the eyebrow, also it shows the reflection in the eye.
